ValWood Construção e Remodelações was founded by an American entrepreneur with over 25 years of hands-on construction experience. Based in Leiria District, we saw a clear need: quality new construction and dependable remodeling with transparent communication.

BUILDING FOR PORTUGAL'S FUTURE
Portugal is investing heavily in affordable housing. ValWood is ready to build.
The Portuguese government has reduced VAT to 6% on residential construction and rehabilitation for homes priced up to approximately 650,000 euros, or rental properties with rents capped at 2,300 euros per month. This is in effect through 2029 and targeted at high-demand housing areas.
Through a combination of the Recovery and Resilience Plan and new public funding, Portugal is targeting 59,000 new affordable housing units by 2030. This includes new construction, rehabilitation, and public housing across the country.
The Simplex Urbanístico reform is streamlining the building permit process, cutting red tape and shortening timelines. A new Construction Code is modernizing regulations, some dating back to the 1960s, to make building in Portugal faster and simpler.
